Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) announced that all National Tourism Parks are now open for visitors. In a declaration announcement, the re-opening followed consultations with different invest-ins and operators. Now Uganda is looking forward to re-open boarders and airport.
The re-opening of other primate parks came at a time when the habitat are experiencing the booming of baby Mountain Gorillas leading in increase of numbers. With over 7 infants born this year compared to those of 2019 which was 2 and besides that,5 of these 7 were born only in just 6 weeks.
All Ugandan safari activities within the protected areas shall be taken following the SEOs of the ministry of health Uganda as well as the presidential directives
Below here are some of the directives you should follow;
i) All travelers should observe social distancing while in the parks.
ii) Travelers must wear face masks all the time in the park.
iii) Sensitization and hand washing activities should be mandatory in the protected areas.
iv) All tourists should practice temperature screening while entering the tourism gates in the protected areas.
v) Those who wants to visit primate parks, should carry a minimum of 2 masks, with filters in them.
vi) Saloon cars will not be permitted to carry out safari game drives in the protected areas.
UGANDA WILDLIFE AUTHORITY HANDED ITS STAFFS COVID-19 TRAINING
Well covid-19 hasn’t left the globe the same and oh yes Uganda wild life authority (UWA) has handed its staffs the training for covid-19 measures to protect them from acquiring the virus as well as to avoid affecting visitors from it following the re-opening of protected areas. Secondly all the Uganda wild life authority staff on duty at its office and gates in all parks will have to sensitize travelers including all tourists on the govt SOPs.
IS UGANDA SAFE FOR TRAVEL NOW?
Well, just like many countries, Uganda have shown the signs of travel hopes again by continuing to lift its lockdown that was caused by the corona outbreak.
Because of the boarders and airport closures, visiting Uganda parks remains for domestic tourists till they open airports and borders again. However, when they re-open these travel figures, all travel addicts and tourists shall be guaranteed to re-visit these protected areas, and those preparing a safari to Uganda will enjoy the emphatic Covid-19 holiday myth.
