8 Days Uganda primates safari covers the best national parks in Uganda starting with Murchison falls national park, Kibale national park for chimpanzees, wildife viewing in Queen Elizabeth national park and mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
The driver will pick you from the hotel after breakfast in the morning and head to Murchison falls national park. The drive will through the famous Luwero triangle and other districts on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. The en-route lunch will be in masindi and later proceed with the journey to the park. Dinner and overnight will be served at your lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat Cruise
After your early breakfast, go for the morning game drive and spot many wildlife species like giraffes, lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, antelopes and so many others. The morning game drive gives you a chance to spot the nocturnal animals and the hunters before they return to their hideouts as well as the early risers. Return to the lodge for relaxation.

In the afternoon after lunch, go for the boat cruise on the Victoria Nile which is the high spot in this park to view lots of wildlife species at a close and clear range. The wildlife likely to be spotted on a boat cruise ranges from hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and many others that come to drink water to refresh themselves off the scorching sun and also to enjoy fresh grass along the banks of the river in the afternoon. However also spot reptiles like the Nile crocodiles and a number of bird spices. The boat goes to the base of Murchison falls and here you get a chance to see the most lovely and powerful falls in the world. You can either choose to hike to the top of the falls or return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
Transfer to Kibale national park after breakfast, pass through Lake Albert escarpments which will give you a remarkable views of this stunning lake. Have lunch in Hoima then proceed to the park. The journey will take you through Lake Nkusi joining Lake Kyoga to Lake Albert. Remember to take pictures of the rolling hills filled with traditional cash crops that you will encounter on the way to Kibale national park. This park is one of the greatest rain forest in Africa and it host around 13 primate species chimpanzees inclusive.

Some of the primate species found in kibale national park include; black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, chimpanzees among others. This park is close to bigodi wetland which is managed and owned by the local people in this community and it is famous for primate and bird watching. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland visit.
Have an early breakfast then head to the park headquarters for briefing then after you will enter the forest to start the chimpanzee tracking whiling following the guide. Kibale national park is among the best primate destinations in Africa especially for chimpanzee tracking. It accommodates a number of primates and other wildlife. The moment you meet the chimpanzees, you are only give an hour to be with them. After tracking the chimpanzee, you will go back to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, go for nature walk at bigodi wetland where you will get a chance to encounter a number of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park – Afternoon boat cruise.
Wake up and have breakfast, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park going through the crater lakes. The journey will reward you with attractive scenic landscape. With jaw dropping views of legendary mountains of the moon. You will check in at the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, go for the boat cruise on Kazinga channel and spot a variety of aquatic life such as Nile crocodiles, Hippos and other wildlife like buffaloes, elephants, etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Game drive and Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Have an early cup of coffee before heading to a morning game drive along the queen’s mile plus the kasenyi trail. And the game drive will enable you view wildlife like elephants, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs and many others and after the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park thereafter arriving in the evening for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking tour
After breakfast in the early morning, head to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers about dos and don’ts while in that park. After you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals. Then enter the forest and start off gorilla trekking safari as directed by the rangers. It is a magnificent experience watching the gentle mountain gorillas playing, feeding plus doing other interesting activities. Gorilla trekking takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the location and movement of the group you’re trekking. Once you meet the gorillas, you’re only allowed to spend one hour with them so remember to use it wisely. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the park.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala.
After having your breakfast, set off for your journey back to Kampala and have a lunch en-route in Mbarara at Igongo hotel then proceed on your journey; however, you will have a stopover at the equator for final photo shots. The driver will drop you at your hotel or to the airport for your departure flight.
